Recommendations for Improving Your Complexion

The naturopathic approach believes that skin problems are usually a sign that the body has accumulated, for a variety of reasons, an overload of toxins caused by allergenic substances, toxic food and emotional stress.

Recommended ways to improve your complexion

An elimination diet (omitting certain foods) can be beneficial.
What should one avoid during the skin's restoration period?
  • Avoid eating eggs, peanuts, margarine, dairy products, sugar, fried food, eggplant, spicy food, cakes and cookies, food coloring, alcoholic beverages, caffeine, chocolate and citrus fruits.
  • Use a high quality, natural shampoo.
  • For best nourishment we recommend eating mainly fresh vegetables, such as: cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, celery, lettuce, spinach, cucumber, zucchini, pumpkin, yams, carrots, herbs (parsley, coriander, basil, and rocket leaves) and radishes.
  • Eat fruits containing Vitamin C (besides citrus fruits), such as: berries, apples, kiwi and seasonal fruits.
  • Recommended breads are those made of rye and rice.
  • Eat plenty of cereals and legumes, and use cold pressed oils.
  • Eat plenty of fatty acids - Omega 3, 6, 9. These are found in linen seeds (Omega 3), in deep-sea fish (Omega 3 and 6) such as salmon, herring, mackerel, merluza, tuna, and in olive oil (Omega 9).
  • Occasionally it is recommended to take a food additive to improve your physical condition and, of course, your complexion.
  • Very important: Drink at least 12 cups per day, of water in particular, and avoid drinking cola and juices containing food coloring.
